FAITH - AN UNDERSTANDING

Faith In

Faith is not religion and religion is not faith. They are two different things altogether.

In the verses that I looked up in the New Testament about FAITH and how Jesus was using the term none of them had any connotation to Religion or anything similar. For instances:

Matthew 21:21
And Jesus answering said to them, `Verily I say to you, If ye may have faith, and may not doubt, not only this of the fig-tree shall ye do, but even if to this mount ye may say, Be lifted up and be cast into the sea, it shall come to pass;

Luke 17:6
and the Lord said, `If ye had faith as a grain of mustard, ye would have said to this sycamine, Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea, and it would have obeyed you.

Jesus said that The Kingdom Of God and all the Laws are WITHIN US. According to the above verses he does not say have Faith in God, but of ourselves. If we have faith in ourselves then we shall do anything. He also did not say that it was a religion and he didn't just say these things to the religions of his day. He said it to everyone. Faith isn't meant for a select few, It is meant for all; black white, red, yellow, Jew, Christian, Catholic, Hindu, Aboriginal, people we have yet to even meet who like in undiscovered areas and even those who are on other planets in other universes.

We can create and we can heal ourselves of any afflictions......IF we have FAITH in ourselves. When we begin to doubt then things fall apart.

Jesus goes on to tell us that we must use our Faith to build up one another, not to tear down like most religions ultimately do. Faith is also used to show us what we can do as in what a God, such as our self, is capable of. All we have to do is Believe in Ourselves.

A Mustard Seed

In the Bible Jesus spoke to his followers about a mustard seed. Have you ever seen a Mustard Seed? Most are taught that they are the smallest of seeds. They may have been in the days of Jesus, but actually go to the store and look at a Mustard seed. You may find them in the Spice Section or in a Health Food Store. They are not small by any means. They are almost as big as a Coriander Seed. Yeah, they are big and our FAITH in ourselves has to be that big or bigger for it to work. Oh Ye Of Little Faith, couldn't heal themselves of afflictions unless they were told they could and did. It wasn't written that Jesus actually touched or healed them, he just told them they would heal and go on in peace according to how much FAITH they had.......in themselves and not in anyone or anything else.

You will never see an, outside of yourself, GOD do anything. Neither will you see an adversary or evil being such as Satan. They cannot exist outside of yourself and your thoughts, They aren't physical persons and they cannot be owned by any one thing in the whole of the Universe. They are the whole of our thought up Universe and We are All one in that Universe.

What we do have to have is Faith that WE can move mountains and make things happen. So those whom he was telling that had little faith did not believe enough in themselves that they could do anything Have Faith and believe and all will turn out just as your thoughts have created. Jesus also mentioned something about measure to measure. Whatever you put into something is just what you are going to get out of it. An outside God will not do it for you. The God Within will if you only believe and have FAITH as Jesus says.

Interesting Hub. I like seeing different points of view, and I would have to disagree with some of it. I believe that God has a lot to do with Faith, an outside God. I believe we can only do so much on our own, and then God allows us to do more through his authority.

I do have to say, loved your Bible quotes, something about the old school "ye's" just make it sound comforting to me. Enjoyed reading the hub, and hope you understand I appreciate your views, they make me think and I like that.

Of course you would disagree. You have been taught from an early age to see it one way. Take no responsibility for your own thoughts because religions teach you to blame everything but yourself--- good or bad.

Thanks for reading and your comment.

I fully agree that being brought up in a religion makes me think a certain way. My religion has taught me to put a lot of what happens in my life in God's sovereignty, basically God is in control of everything. I am curious why you lump all religions together. Are there any religions that you would hold as worthy or helpful? Just curious. :)

If God was in control of everything then why are there rapist and murderers and things those who like to displace the blame on such as natural disasters? Where do you see this God? What does he really look like. I sam not fighting, but look in the morror and you will see God.

All religions have their purpose but as Jesus said we should grow up so we can experience our own god within us, just where he said he was. If you take that Bible in the oldest translation you can get in the language you can read, it would say different things then it does now. If you actually read the "banned Books" and the Nazarene Way in which Jesus was taught you would have a different understanding of who Jesus was and what his message is. Why did Jesus only get 4 books in the Bible when Paul got many more? What was that all about? I bet you will tell me something totally different than what it really is about.

I feel crime happens when people feel that God is not in charge. They want to feel more powerful than someone else or cause someone harm because they were harmed. They also feel they can do these actions because they do not fear justice, either earthly or other.

I see God in everything. I see God in the mirror, in the faces of the people I meet and in the natural order of life. As to the bible and the discrepancy between Jesus and Paul, I couldn't agree more. There should have been more Gospels to learn from. Jesus was more than just four books worth. I went to seminary and learned to read Greek and Hebrew (at a VERY basic level) and once again have to totally agree with you. What the text says and what many bibles say are very different.

I think religions are abused by people. I know there are many issues (both political and moral) with every religion. You have to accept the bad with the good. I appreciate this conversation. Thanks for the insight!

Jesus didn't speak Hebrew or Greek or Latin. He spoke Aramaic. He must have also spoke many languages as he did go to other places in the world. He also despised any semblance of church as he taught that the temple is your body and The Kingdom of God resides there. He told us to be careful with our thoughts because what you sow you will reap. If there were no bad there can be no good or change and learning. What you want to learn and experience will come to you in one way or another. I have several other hubs to read in a different light. I shall put them in a Link section at the bottom of this hub.
