First Winter Snow

This is another attempt for me to write poetry again. Please don't be too harsh with your comments. I used to write poety a very long time ago and I am trying to get that lovliness and solace back. A few, like SirDent, have tried to help me, but . well this is the one that I just wrote.
First Winter Snow
Clouds are ready to release their bounty
There is a chrispness in the air
When the clouds can hold no more
Silence is in the air
You wait because you know it is going to do something for sure
And you wait in expectation for the first lacey flakes to fall
Many creatures sit and watch the flakes fill the air
Trees are shimmering in the light for all
Creatures sit quietly in the blanket of white snow
As this is the season's First Winter Snow. .

Hi! Great poem! I moved up to Oregon from Southern california about 4 years ago and one of the things I like most about living in Oregon is that it snows (though not enough!) right where I live! This poem captures my feelings exactly when it is about to snow. Great hub!

Myway, we don't usually get snow until like Jauary, but this year we had our first snow last night. I didn't get a picture of it though as it didn't stay long enough. It melted pretty quick when the sun came up over the mountain.
I used to live in Michigan and Boy did we get It....lake affect...Now we are moving in Eastern Or To the City of Bend. Its a great place surrounded by mountains and I can cross country ski again ;0) and the lights will look great at x mass and I love to run in the snow...later mike :0)
Very nicely written LG, I just we still got snow here, but thesedays the most we usually get is a light covering that is gone in a few hours, and even that is rare.
Thanks to all who commented on this. We get some snow, but we never have gotten it this early. It's going to be a looong winter! Good thing my two daughters are getting us a cord of wood for Christmas!!!
