This Fall photo was taken in early Autumn. It is going down the west side of the mountain, into Back Creek Valley I live at the top of in a small community or vacation homes and some permanent residents on the top of the mountain where I am coming from. The road is nice and you can see the trees changing colors of deep browns, oranges, yellows and reds. This is what it looks like on the west side of North Mountain in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. As Autumn comes to this part of the state you can smell all the various kinds of trees we have here. Some of those include, Maple, Oak, Locust, Birch, Pine and some Cedar scattered about. Our most famous trees we have are Apples. We are in Apple Country and there are many orchards on this North Mountain. There is a smaller mountain that runs sort of alongside of this North Mountain aptly named Apple Pie Ridge. One of the orchards has lots more to offer because they grow their own food and have many other produce they pick or you pick. It is a wonderful place snuggled inside the two mountain. They have a market on their land and it is a most wonderful place to be in Autumn. In Fall you can see the many kinds of Apples they have running up the hills. They have pumpkins, squash, pies, baked goods, many bins of different kinds of apples, pears and much more.

Back Creek Valley includes a National State Park. It is a great place to play, fish, hunt and just relax in the beauty of nature. I believe that is why this state is called West By God. It is such a beautiful place and serene and has plenty of places to just get away for this hustle and bustle of the City. I live in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and it is not far from Washington, D.C. There is mass transportation to the city and towns east of here so it is easy to work in the Big city and come home to a beautiful scenic area.

This photo was taken in the Park located in the Back Creek Valley neat Back Creek. This place has many areas to put up a tent or an RV. Fishing and Deer Hunting is plentiful here. This place is also located on an Bird Sanctuary and if you listen carefully and watch the skies you will see many different kinds of birds. They sing their songs throughout the day and at night the insects will lull you to sleep in their night garden. I took this picture near the end of Autumn on a clear, crisp day. Most of the leaves have fallen but there are some that hung around for a much longer tome. It is just so beautiful out here. Mother Nature just seems to be beconing you to visit her landscape and listen to her orchestra and see her wonderous masterpiece. Her fragrance she puts out fills your senses with a myriad of scents like Apples and Cedars.

We go out for what used to be called a "Sunday Drive", just to look at all the wonders there is out here in this beautiful West Virginia. The trees are gorgeous, the smells of Apple is so wonderful. The crispness of the air makes you want to go home after a day of being out in nature and sit in front of a roaring fire sipping some hot cocoa or hot apple cider

moonlake, I think it was the demise of the Sunday Drives went away when gas prices started going over the top. I loved them when I was a kid. It was so relaxing and refreshing. I thought of it more like a break in the everyday life of going to school and all that. Thanks for commenting.

Up and all across but funny. It doesn't get any better then fall in WV. I have traveled to many different states but nothing captures the beauty of the fall like West Virginia. Great pics Lady G. Nothing like autumn in WV.
